Château Puynard is a French wine producer with over 100 years of history, based in Blaye in the Côtes de Bordeaux region. Following a seven generation history of winemaking Studio Folk were approached by the new owners to create an updated brand identity, signalling a new beginning and a new era for the vineyard. It’s new direction is focusing on organic viticulture with the aim to produce the healthiest grapes the land can give, and making the best wine, with a commitment to the environment and history of the vineyard.
The design takes reference from the beautiful, historic, 18th Century building – Château Puynard – with its two (now uneven) turrets. Combining the château’s heritage with the forward-looking, innovative perspective of the new owners. Typographically mixing a classic style serif font with a modern mono typeface, and using minimal, geometric illustration we created an elegant and refined brand palette which celebrates the brands legacy. Elements include logo design, typography, illustration, bottle labels, packaging, stationery and website design.
